The muscles you don’t use with atrophy. You can choose to see what you lack, or you can choose to see what you have. Exercise the muscle of gratitude in all circumstances, and you will have more joy, because joy is “happiness” not based on circumstances.
- Listen to “Smile” by the Sidewalk Prophets. “There’s always a reason to always choose joy” is my favorite line.
- Write down in your phone or journal 3 simple pleasures that you’re thankful for. (A favorite shirt, a particular brand of coffee, a shower, etc).
- Share at least one with your group.
